Launch of 1st Joint Polar Satellite System Set for Nov. 10


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 10, 2017 ” NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have scheduled the launch of the first Joint Polar Satellite System on Nov. 10 to begin its mission to support weather forecasting operations, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The space agency said Saturday JPSS-1, which is equipped with instruments and components from Harris (NYSE: HRS), Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) and Ball Aerospace and Technologies, will launch aboard a Delta II rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base.
