Teresa Carlson, a more than 25-year cloud and data management industry executive, will officially assume the role of president and chief growth officer at Splunk (Nasdaq: SPLK) on April 19.
Carlson, a six-time Wash100 Award recipient, will report to Splunk President and CEO Doug Merritt and will lead efforts to drive business transformation across go-to-market segments, advance cloud-first and growth initiatives and pursue new market opportunities as part of her responsibilities in the newly created position, the company said Monday.
Merritt said Carlson will bring to Splunk her cloud and software knowledge and industry experience as the company continues to expand and advance technology innovation in support of clients and stakeholders.
Carlson is vice president of worldwide public sector and industries at Amazon Web Services. In 2010, she founded the worldwide public sector at AWS. Her industry career also included time as business development, sales and marketing leader at Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), NovaCare and Keyfile/Lexign.
She holds leadership positions at various organizations, including the White House Historical Association’s Council on History, the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the Alliance for Digital Innovation.
