The Department of Labor has awarded Serco‘s U.S. arm a potential five-year, $192.9 million contract to provide support services for the Transition Assistance Program.
According to a notice published Friday on the Federal Procurement Data System, DOL received five offers for the contract, which has a one-year base period and four option years that could run through Sept. 24, 2029, if all options are exercised.
Under the TAP contract, Serco Inc. will support the department’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service by helping transitioning service members and their spouses secure careers in the civilian labor force, establish career goals, identify and research civilian occupations and learn about credentialing and vocational training programs while reducing reliance on unemployment compensation.
According to a solicitation published in February, VETS requires support services to help improve TAP administration, management, operations, training, curriculum development, plans, analysis and evaluation.
The vendor will help facilitate TAP employment workshops and course curriculum training and provide employment assistance and counseling, outreach and strategic communications, scheduling, research and meeting facilitation support.
