Matt Topper, president of UberEther, said government agencies seeking to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, data breaches and other cyberthreats should implement identity and access management systems, which he said act as a “gatekeeper.”
“By rigorously controlling and monitoring access, IAM solutions mitigate the risks posed by insider threats, which can be as damaging as external attacks,” Topper wrote in an article published on Carahsoft.com.
“Furthermore, IAM assists agencies in maintaining compliance with stringent government regulatory frameworks by managing user access and privileges, auditing, and reporting,” he added.
According to the head of UberEther, advanced IAM platforms adhere to zero trust principles and use multifactor authentication to facilitate continuous verification of every request for access.
In this article, Topper discussed how IAM systems could help agencies facilitate the adoption of digital innovations such as cloud technologies and mobile platforms while ensuring security.
He mentioned how scalable systems like the company’s IAM Advantage platform could enable agencies to manage identities while striking a balance between user-friendliness and robust security.
The cybersecurity executive noted that IAM Advantage, which has FedRAMP High level authorization, integrates technologies from CyberArk, Radiant Logic, Ping Identity, SailPoint Technologies and other vendors to ensure that the platform adapts to emerging cyberthreats.
“IAM Advantage exemplifies how strategic vendor collaboration and a commitment to innovation can offer government agencies with a robust, dynamic and comprehensive cybersecurity solution rooted in zero trust principles,” Topper added.
