The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense, or JPEO CBRND, through the General Services Administration, has started soliciting industry comments on its draft request for proposal regarding the procurement of commercially available CBRN items and equipment.
JPEO CBRND Contract Scope
According to the notice posted on SAM.gov Tuesday, the JPEO CBRND plans to award an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a ceiling value of $500 million. The IDIQ will cover the purchase of a wide range of commercial CBRN items and equipment along with ancillary training and services.
These requirements will be included in the IDIQ contract catalog, a comprehensive list of CBRND items and equipment that various customers across different programs and platforms may possibly need for detecting, identifying, monitoring and protecting individuals from CBRN contamination and its effects. These items will also be utilized for evaluating and mitigating CBRND or weapons of mass destruction incidents.
Some items included in the contract include personal protective equipment, such as protective over garments, over boots, gloves, self-contained breathing apparatus and respirators.
