General Dynamics Information Technology has secured two task orders worth $330 million from the Army Contracting Command – Orlando for mission training complexes support services.
The General Dynamics business unit said Tuesday that task orders, awarded under the Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, support two military programs and will include logistical and technical services.
Army Partners With GDIT for Training
The first task order, valued at $180 million, will see the GDIT team train Army Pacific soldiers ahead of deployment. The deal has a one-year base period and four 12-month options.
Under the second task order, the company will provide training to the XVIII Airborne Corps. The deal is valued at $150 million and has a five-year base period and a six-month option.
The new awards bring the total value of the MTCCS II IDIQ to $975 million.
GDIT will use live, virtual and constructive environments to train the soldiers throughout the programs. LVC creates realistic and immersive military exercises to boost warfighter readiness.
According to Brian Sheridan, senior vice president for defense at GDIT, utilizing advanced training technologies is key to maintaining warfighter superiority over adversaries.
âWe look forward to continuing our long-standing support to the Army with modern training services that will meet the demands of a constantly evolving battlefield environment,â she commented in a statement.
Over 500,000 soldiers are expected to undergo LVC training under the new awards.
Military’s Push for LVC Training
The move is part of the larger effort across the U.S. military to modernize training. The Marine Air-Ground Task Force Training Command and Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center also recently revealed plans to invest $20 million in the Marine Corpsâ 5G network training platform, which will support LVC training globally.
