Textron Aviation Books $277M Navy Award for T-54A Aircraft Delivery

Textron Aviation has received a contract modification worth $276.8 million from the U.S. Navy for T-54A aircraft, equipment and other related items and services.

The Department of Defense said Thursday the Wichita, Kansas-based company will produce 26 units of T-54A aircraft, 24 of which will be under Lot 3 while the remaining two will be under the Lot 2 Plus Up Option. The firm-fixed-price contract also covers aircraft and engine spare parts and support equipment for the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard to support the mission of Chief Naval Air Training.

Under the modified contract, the Textron business unit will provide air training services to help develop aviators and flight officers to support Naval Air Forces operations.

The company will conduct the work in Wichita, Kansas and Corpus Christi, Texas. The project is set to be completed by September 2026. The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland will obligate the whole contract amount from the Navy’s fiscal 2025 aircraft procurement funds at the time of the award.

Textron Aviation previously secured a Navy contract valued at $121.3 million for the production of 14 Multi-Engine Training System aircraft.
