Vigor Marine Awarded $294M Navy Contract for USS Kidd Support Services

Vigor Industrial business has secured a $277 million contract from the U.S. Navy to provide support services for the USS Kidd, or DDG 100.

The Department of Defense said Friday Portland, Oregon-based Vigor Marine will perform repair, maintenance and modernization services for the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer. The firm-fixed-price award also covers labor, supervision, facilities, equipment, production, testing and quality assurance for the preparation and accomplishment of the project.

The undefinitized contract action falls under the Chief of Naval Operations Fiscal Year 2025 Depot Modernization Period program. It comes with options that would raise the contract value to $294.5 million, if exercised.

An amount of $73.7 million, or 54 percent of the contract value, will be obligated from the Navy’s fiscal 2024 other procurement funds at the time of the award. Another $49.3 million, or 36 percent, will come from the fiscal 2025 other procurement funds while $12.7 million, or 10 percent, will be allocated from the 2025 maintenance funds.

The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. will supervise the project while work will be conducted in Seattle, Washington. The project is anticipated to be done by June 2026.
