Oracle’s Steve Derr Named Executive Mosaic’s 4×24 Cloud Computing Group Chair

Executive Mosaic has selected Steve Derr, vice president of Oracle‘s JWCC Program Management Office and cloud operations and engineering, as chairman of the Cloud Computing Group, part of its 4×24 program.

The 4×24 Executive Leadership Program unites senior industry executives and top government officials through networking and dinner events designed to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors, advance operations and build meaningful partnerships.

As group chair, Derr looks forward to working with government leaders to enforce cloud modernization.

“I am honored to be appointed chairman of the Cloud Group at Executive Mosaic,” Derr said. “The increased adoption of cloud technologies by the U.S. government across DOD, DNI and federal entities brings the full power of Cloud Service Providers’ capabilities, especially artificial intelligence, to the mission owners. Expanding trusted cloud capabilities from CONUS to OCONUS operations is a critical component of the mission when considering current world events.”

“I am excited to collaborate with fellow executives and government leaders to drive innovation and adoption of the cloud. Together, we will accelerate the mission outcomes expected by the cloud,” he added.

Derr has served at Oracle for more than a decade. Prior to his current position, he was the VP of hardware solutions for the company’s national security group. Before joining Oracle, Derr held senior leadership roles at Avaya Government Solutions and Nortel Government Solutions. His career also includes more than eight years of service in the U.S. Air Force as a satellite communications technician and a weapon control systems specialist.

Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic, applauded Derr’s cloud acumen as chairman of the Cloud Computing Group.

“The cloud revolution is in full swing, sparking a transformative shift that is particularly critical for the U.S. government as it seeks to modernize its operations and enhance national security,” Garrettson stated. “Steve’s deep understanding of the GovCon industry and his experience in government and commercial sectors make him the perfect fit to capitalize on this exciting new era in cloud technology. We’re excited to have Steve back for another dynamic, productive season as chair of our Cloud Group.”

Executive Mosaic is excited to watch Derr make an astounding impact as chairman of the 4×24 Cloud Computing Group.
