Avint has promoted veteran business executive Brian Edwards to chief growth officer and appointed cybersecurity leader Kevin Thomas as chief solutions officer as part of a push to achieve growth in the federal cybersecurity sector.
The company said Wednesday the appointments mark the expansion of its leadership team and come after the launch of AREA, a cybersecurity platform that uses machine learning algorithms to provide organizations with real-time assessments of the current threat scenario.
Brian Edwards
As chief growth officer, the more than 20-year business leader will oversee Avint’s business development and strategic growth initiatives.
Edwards played a role in securing a position on the General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus contract for small business, service-disabled veteran-owned, and woman-owned small business tracks.
“Brian’s leadership and experience have been instrumental in driving our growth,” said Avint CEO Marcie Nagel. “His recent success in securing OASIS+ positions us to deliver expanded services to federal clients, enhancing our ability to support critical missions.”
Edwards brings decades of information technology and corporate leadership experience in the tech sector to the position.
Kevin Thomas
Avint’s new chief solutions officer will manage the company’s technical strategy and products delivery and will bring to the role over two decades of experience delivering cybersecurity platforms to federal agencies.
Thomas served as a chief information officer, chief information security officer and consulting services leader, among other leadership roles, at several U.S. public sector companies.
“Kevin’s expertise in cybersecurity architecture will strengthen our capabilities and help federal agencies address emerging threats,” Nagel stated.
