Brad Whittington Joins Mercury Systems as Engineering SVP

Mercury Systems has appointed Brad Whittington, a former executive at Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) and Raytheon, as senior vice president of engineering. He will report to Mercury’s chief operating officer, Roger Wells

The recent leadership appointment is part of Mercury’s reorganization effort to streamline its operations. Joe Plunkett, who has served as its interim engineering leader, will move to a permanent role as head of the advanced concepts division, the company said Monday.

As SVP of engineering, Whittington will use his wealth of aerospace and defense leadership experience to plan, oversee and execute strategies to grow Mercury’s engineering business and ensure that the end-to-end Mercury Processing Platform can meet customer requirements.

Whittington previously served as vice president of engineering at Leidos. He also held numerous leadership positions at the former Raytheon company, where he spent over 23 years of his career. His resume includes positions at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and NASA

Wells expressed enthusiasm for Whittington’s addition to the Mercury leadership team. “Brad’s leadership will be instrumental in our ongoing efforts to eliminate silos in our functions, standardize and streamline engineering processes, transition development programs into production and advance our position of technological leadership in the industry.”
