Peter Weilbach has been promoted to vice president of capture management at SAIC (NASDAQ: SAIC).
According to a LinkedIn post shared Friday, Weilbach will be responsible for securing new business opportunities while working under SAIC’s space and intelligence business group.
Weilbach has been part of SAIC for more than two years. He started out as the senior director of space, capture management before his recent promotion.
Prior to that, Weilbach had two stops at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT). He first worked for the aerospace and defense company as senior engineer from 1984 to 1996. In 2014, Weilbach returned to Lockheed Martin and served as senior manager of capture operations for five years before being promoted to senior manager of space operations and control business development. Weilbach was senior manager of navigation systems mission strategy before his move to SAIC.
The business development expert also worked as senior manager of emerging offerings at Exelis and as president and owner of CO-VA Consulting. In addition, Weilbach spent over 17 years with what was then Raytheon Company as senior capture, business development and program manager.
The retired colonel served under the U.S. Air Force Reserve for almost 37 years. The Littleton, Colorado native graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver.
