.Software company Cellebrite (Nasdaq: CLBT) has established a new unit called Cellebrite Federal Solutions, which will work to continue the company’s efforts in supporting various U.S. federal civilian agencies using the artificial intelligence-powered Case-to-Closure investigative cloud platform.
Cellebrite Federal Solutions will comprise, in part, employees from Cyber Technology Services, which Cellebrite said Wednesday it had recently acquired. Established in 2002, CyTech has expertise in incident response services, digital forensics and cybersecurity.
The new unit will be headed by Erik Sachwitz, who has been in charge of the U.S. federal business at Cellebrite since 2020.
The unit will also be overseen by a board of independent directors, which currently counts among its members Ken Tovo, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who formerly led the Army Special Operations Command; Barry West, formerly chief information officer at the National Weather Service, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Commerce; Mark Ferrer, formerly chief operations officer at SAP; and Barbara Grewe, formerly associate general counsel at the Government Accountability Office and senior director of the 9/11 Review Commission at the FBI.
Commenting on the establishment of the new unit and the acquisition of CyTech, Cellebrite CEO Yossi Carmil said, “This move reinforces our dedication and support for the U.S. federal government to have the best digital investigative resources.”
