Paul Nicholson is the Executive Director for Coalition Communications and Deputy Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. In this role, he ensures that the strategic-level joint and coalition operates as a cohesive unit to achieve operational success and strategic dominance in the Indo-Pacific area.

Who is Paul Nicholson?
Paul Nicholson worked at the National Security Agency for 15 years. He took on roles in information assurance and cybersecurity, eventually becoming the Chief Product Officer (CPO). Currently, he is a part of creating a new network that operates with zero trust in collaboration with allies for INDOPACOM.
Nicholson’s career also involves technology development for the Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Center and consulting for the U.S. government. He is an Air Force veteran with Master’s Degrees in Industrial Engineering, Strategic Studies, and National Security.

USINDOPACOM Enhances the DoD’s Warfare Synergy with AI in Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2)
USINDOPACOM’s participation in the Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) program is a key aspect of the Department of Defense’s comprehensive strategy. This initiative focuses on creating a system that can seamlessly link sensors to weapons in every domain covering land, air, sea, space, and cyberspace. Leveraging artificial intelligence technology can enhance the CJADC2’s operational cooperation, optimize decision-making processes, and expedite responses in complex combat scenarios.
Currently, USINDOPACOM is working on the upcoming Defense Department Global Information Dominance Experiments (GIDE). These experiments aim to validate emerging technologies essential for establishing a secure network for all military assets across all domains. The primary goal of the upcoming GIDE projects is to test, refine, and integrate data systems with artificial intelligence to facilitate the implementation of the Pentagon’s Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) framework.

The Department of Defense’s strategy for Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is to establish a unified system with tangible and intangible resources to enable globally integrated operations.
