This year marks Curtis’ eighth Wash100 win, honoring his efforts in fostering the development and delivery of digital intelligence platforms, communications systems and other mission-critical technologies that work to provide operational overmatch for defense and national security customers and improve readiness of U.S. forces and their allies.

Since January 2022, Curtis has been serving as board chairman at Cubic, which was acquired by Veritas Capital and Evergreen Coast Capital, an affiliate of Elliott Investment Management, in 2021.
With Curtis at the helm of the board, Cubic has won several contracts from the U.S. military and federal government.
These include a spot on a multiple-award contract to provide systems and synthetic environment development and capability planning support for the U.S. Air Force, an award to support research and development work on the Air Force’s Halo-Enabled Resilient Mesh system designed to help enhance network connectivity among joint forces and a U.S. Army contract to upgrade a foreign military sales customer’s combat training center.
In 2023, Cubic’s mission and performance solutions division showcased at a symposium its portfolio of full-motion video and geospatial products designed to deliver actionable intelligence for warfighters.
The company also demonstrated air and ground live, virtual and constructive training tools as well as multidomain systems that work to accelerate decision-making advantage at the edge. These include edge computing and networking, tracking terminal and expeditionary satellite platforms.
In May 2023, Cubic partnered with two companies to introduce a joint offering to facilitate interoperability between military radio communications networks.
Known as a results-oriented executive and a visionary leader, Curtis helped transform Perspecta into a $7.1 billion company and one of the leading players in the government information technology services market while exhibiting his unmatched passion to serve and meet the needs of customers.
The seasoned GovCon executive became the president and CEO of Perspecta upon its creation as a result of the merger between Vencore, DXC Technology’s public sector business and KeyPoint Government Solutions.
In 2021, Veritas Capital closed its acquisition of Perspecta, integrating the latter with its portfolio company Peraton to form a new entity focused on delivering enterprise IT and mission capability integration support to federal, state and local government agencies.
Curtis called the Perspecta transaction a “culmination of a comprehensive review process.”
Curtis has over three decades of senior leadership experience in federal government contracting. Aside from his business development, strategic planning, management skills and eye for acquisitions, he appeals to a “people before process” philosophy, and recognizes the value and vital role of employees in helping government clients carry out their missions.
Before leading Perspecta, he served as CEO of Vencore and Vangent and held senior leadership positions at Pearson Government Solutions and DynCorp International.
In May 2019, Curtis was honored by the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America with its Technology Good Scout Award.
In October 2022, GovCon Wire featured him as part of Executive Mosaic media group’s coverage of Good Scouts who were honored for their influence in the Greater Washington tech sector and demonstration of scouting values.
