Nokia has launched a new entity focused on delivering innovative and secure platforms designed to meet the critical requirements and missions of U.S. federal agencies.
Nokia Federal Solutions will use 5G, IP routing, microwave, optical networking, tactical private wireless and other technology offerings in Nokia’s product portfolio to develop new platforms and meet the needs of agencies, the parent company said Monday.
The launch of NFS came a month after Nokia agreed to acquire Fenix Group, a portfolio company of Enlightenment Capital, as part of a push to expand its portfolio of wireless offerings for defense customers.
“With Nokia Federal Solutions, we are strengthening our commitment to support the US Government by investing in a dedicated entity to provide the technology, expertise, and local presence needed to help U.S. federal agencies achieve their mission goals,” said Mike Loomis, president of Nokia Federal Solutions.
“We are investing to become the U.S. Government’s trusted partner for 5G mission-ready solutions,” Loomis added.
Nokia will sponsor the Potomac Officers Club’s 10th Annual Defense R&D Summit on Jan. 31. Register here to hear defense leaders, researchers and experts discuss the latest developments in the field of military technology.
