Asya Smith, formerly vice president of operations at Tria Federal, has been appointed chief operating officer at Gaithersburg, Maryland-based information technology services provider DecisionPoint.
In a recently published LinkedIn post, Smith said she will be responsible for leading a team of professionals at DecisionPoint and helping drive the company’s growth initiatives.
Before joining Tria, Smith was VP of operations at digital transformation company Favor TechConsulting and VP of government and public sector at customer intelligence provider Acxiom.
She also held the COO role at VariQ, where she helped oversee the government contractor’s transition from small to mid-tier business and managed its contract portfolio.
Her industry career includes time as VP of operations support at Zenith American Solutions, director at Energy Enterprise Solutions and consultant and senior program manager at ACS Educational Solutions.
She also served as a senior project manager at the Federal National Mortgage Association.
