The 2023 Raymond James Defense and Government Conference on Oct. 12 will feature some of the most influential government contracting executives and public sector leaders in the GovCon landscape who will gather to discuss the important issues shaping the sector today.
Hosted at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., the conference includes more than 30 presenting industry companies and keynote discussions from top government officials.
Andy McEnroe, managing director at Raymond James, described the event as “a gathering of leaders across the government contracting community, particularly those operating with differentiated technology and IP, to better serve the warfighter.”
“This year, we have a robust lineup of speakers who are some of the most active participants in the community, both from an industry perspective, but also within government. We are featuring CEOs such as Carey Smith of Parsons, John Mengucci of CACI, Matt Tait of ManTech and John Heller of Amentum, who will share their thoughts on the state of the industry,” McEnroe told Executive Mosaic.
Industry insights will also be shared during a panel discussion focused on how private equity has become a “prolific investor” in the GovCon market. Featured private equity speakers include Tom Campbell of DC Capital Partners, Jack Kerrigan of Razor’s Edge, Jason Rigoli of Enlightenment Capital, Michael Lustbader of Arlington Capital Partners, Mark Frantz of Blue Delta Capital Partners and Jeff Hart of AE Industrial Partners.
“We like to think that most of the movers and shakers in defense and government M&A attend this,” said Sam Maness, managing director at Raymond James. “Every year, deals get made in the hallways at this event.”
“It’s intended as a forum for firms that are truly making a difference in winning the next fight or changing the way government functions, as opposed to more traditional players in our space. It’s a gathering of firms that are really doing things in a different manner,” Maness added.
The event’s government speakers include Congressman Mike Gallagher, who will speak on the state of government funding for innovation, and retired Generals John Kelly and Anthony Zinni, who will participate in a panel discussion about the current geopolitical climate and its impact on the defense industrial base.
In addition to highlighting the most impactful trends moving the GovCon marketplace, the Defense and Government Conference also provides attendees with a unique opportunity to take the field at Nationals Park.
“All conference participants have the opportunity, should they choose, to take live batting practice on the field or go down to the bullpen and throw a bullpen session,” said McEnroe. “Our conference is not only a way to test your intellectual wit by soaking in some of the current themes in the government contracting market, but also to test your athletic prowess.”
