General Atomics Buys Electro-Optical Sensor Tech Maker EO Vista; Scott Forney Quoted

General Atomics has purchased space and airborne electro-optical payload developer EO Vista for an undisclosed sum and will integrate the acquired company with its electromagnetic systems business.

Acton, Massachusetts-based EO Vista is a technology company founded in 2013 and is focused on developing next-generation EO sensing systems used for surveillance operations and other missions, General Atomics said Friday.

EO Vista provides General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems with EO infrared weather sensor payloads through a contract with Space Systems Command that seeks to support the U.S. Space Force’s move from the Defense Meteorological Support Program to next-generation small weather satellites.

“We look forward to bringing EO Vista’s unique capabilities on-board as we continue to expand our weather and science programs and our growing portfolio of sensor system payload designs to support a wide range of customer requirements, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions,” said Scott Forney, president of GA-EMS.

Proskauer Rose and Greenberg Traurig respectively served as legal and government compliance advisers to EO Vista in the transaction. Jefferies was the company’s exclusive financial adviser.
