General Dynamics Subsidiary Books $226M Air Force Contract for Global Network Terminal Tech Production

General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) mission systems business has secured a potential $226.5 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to produce components of the global aircrew strategic network terminal system for the U.S. Air Force.

GDMS will manufacture high-altitude electromagnetic pulse and radiation-hardened general area alerting, personal area alerting and ultra-high frequency line of sight communications for Global ASNT Increment 2, Block 1 system, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Work under the seven-year, sole-source contract will occur in Taunton, Massachusetts, through Sept. 10, 2030.

The Nuclear Networks Division at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts is the contracting activity and is obligating $11 million in fiscal 2023 Air Force procurement funds.

A Hanscom team sustains the Global ASNT to provide nuclear command, control and communications capability for the Air Force’s nuclear bomber fleet.

In 2021, GDMS was awarded a $34.5 million other transaction authority agreement for strategic weapon systems prototype development as part of Global ASNT Increment 2.
