Michele Flournoy, co-founder of Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm WestExec Advisors and a former Department of Defense official, has been appointed to Rivada Networks‘ board of directors.
Flournoy said in a statement released Thursday she aims to help Rivada “transform the global communications landscape” with its OuterNET satellite network.
From February 2009 to February 2012, she was undersecretary for policy at DOD and advised the defense secretary on national security and defense policy matters.
She is co-founder, former CEO and current chair of the Center for a New American Security, a think tank focused on national security and foreign policy issues.
A Harvard University graduate, Flournoy has served on the board at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) since 2018.
