Alex Barbato, public sector solutions engineer at VMware (NYSE: VMW), said government agencies looking to implement DevSecOps methodologies to advance technology modernization efforts should ensure that development, security and operations teams are aligned by enabling them to have a mindset to work together to deliver on an outcome and achieve missions.
“Once agencies get those teams working together, they can start to have meaningful conversations about how to iterate toward a more rapid and effective delivery model that improves the organization’s security posture,” Barbato wrote in an article published on Carahsoft.com
“That involves streamlining processes, reducing complexity and making strategic technology choices,” he added.
Barbato noted how DevSecOps could help agencies iterate in an automated way and reduce technical debt as they modernize their information technology systems and improve the delivery of services to citizens.
He also mentioned how software offerings like the VMware Tanzu Application Platform could enable agencies to support DevSecOps teams as they develop and field secure, modern applications.
