Lockheed Receives $100M Navy Contract Modification for AN/SQQ-89A (V) 15 Warfare Systems, Services

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will continue providing the U.S. Navy with AN/SQQ-89A (V) 15 anti-submarine warfare systems, spares and support services under a $100 million contract modification.

The Department of Defense said Thursday Lockheed’s rotary and mission systems business was contracted for work on Hypervisor Technology Zero AN/SQQ-89A (V) 15 surface ship undersea warfare combat systems until November 2025.

The technology is designed to detect, classify, localize and engage undersea threats. It can also be used in open ocean and littoral environments to support naval platforms.

Support services include system development, production, integration and testing, with majority of work to be performed in Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania; and Manassas, Virginia.

The Navy will use its allocation for fiscal years 2020 to 2023 to fund the contract modification at the time of award.

Lockheed Martin RMS secured a potential $700.8 million contract in 2018 to develop surface ship undersea warfare systems for the Navy and Japan.
