A Textron business (NYSE: TXT) will continue providing the U.S. Army with engineering and technical services in support of unmanned aircraft system sustainment and technology integration efforts.
According to an award notice on SAM.gov, Textron Systems will conduct the said services under a potential $144.1 million follow-on contract that has a five-year performance period and a six-month extension option.
The contractor is tasked to assist the Army Futures Command in software sustainment and tech integration activities on the RQ-7 Shadow and other military UAS. Services include software modification and test, platform demonstration and system operation.
Textron Systems has been providing Shadow drone support to AFC’s Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate under an initial contract that expired in August 2022 and was extended until June 2023. The new award covers services through December 2028 if the option is exercised.
The company will perform contract work in Cockeysville, Maryland.
