Mercury Systems (Nasdaq: MRCY) has appointed finance and technology leader David Farnsworth as chief financial officer and added Roger Krone, former chairman and CEO of Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) and a 10-time Wash100 awardee, to the board as an independent director.
Farnsworth will officially assume the CFO role at Mercury Systems on July 17, and will bring to the role decades of experience as a finance executive within the defense technology sector, the company said Thursday.
He most recently served as CFO at HawkEye 360 and held several leadership positions at Raytheon, which now operates as RTX (NYSE: RTX), including vice president and CFO of the company’s integrated defense systems business and CFO of the intelligence, information and services segment.
Farnsworth sits on the boards of directors of Merrimack Valley Credit Union and USA Diving.
Michelle McCarthy, who has been interim CFO of Mercury Systems since January, will continue to serve as senior VP and chief accounting officer.
Krone, who officially joined the Andover, Massachusetts-based aerospace and defense technology company’s board on June 28, will also serve as a nominating and governance committee member.
He was at the helm of Leidos for nearly a decade, spent over 15 years at Boeing (NYSE: BA) and served as a vice president at McDonnell Douglas. He started his career at General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
He is a board member at Lear. He also served on the boards of BorgWarner and United Launch Alliance.
