Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has adopted the name RTX as part of a rebranding effort, the company announced Monday in a LinkedIn post.
RTX will begin operating with three businesses – Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon – once the portfolio realignment takes effect on July 1.
In January, the Arlington, Virginia-based aerospace and defense contractor announced plans to realign its four current businesses into three focused segments to drive the company’s market growth, technology synergies and financial targets.
Chief Operating Officer Christopher Calio took on additional responsibilities as president in March and oversees the realignment initiative.
The rebranding move comes three years after Raytheon Company and United Technologies Corp. completed their merger of equals and one year after Raytheon Technologies established its current Northern Virginia headquarters from its prior corporate office in Waltham, Massachusetts.
