L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) will produce a set of equipment and communication tools for the U.S. Air Force Tactical Air Control Party-Modernization program under a $246.4 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
Under the IDIQ award, L3Harris will manufacture tactical radios, ancillary components and radio sets and stations for testing use, the Defense Department said Thursday.
DOD added that the company will perform repair work as the original equipment manufacturer of radios required in the TACP-M effort.
The U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, was the contracting activity for the sole-source acquisition process.
USAF will obligate $137,552 at the time of award from its fiscal 2023 operations and maintenance funds.
The TACP technology was designed to interface with ground forces, close air support aircraft, ultra-high-frequency satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles and command-and-control equipment used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
