NASA Deputy Administrator Pamela Melroy recently accepted her 2023 Wash100 Award from Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and creator of the elite recognition.
For 10 years, the Wash100 Award has celebrated the government contracting industry’s most powerful leaders. Chosen through an intense selection process that weighs the past accomplishments and potential achievements of each contender, Wash100 awardees represent GovCon’s top tier of talent.
Melroy spent over 14 years with NASA before stepping into her current role in 2021. As an astronaut, she served as mission commander on the STS-120 space mission and as a pilot on STS-92 and STS-112.
A first time Wash100 Award winner, Melroy was honored for driving key NASA initiatives forward and connecting the administration with outside organizations to promote the development of advanced technologies. Click here to read her full profile.
Since Melroy’s induction into the 2023 Wash100 class, she has continued her tireless work to empower innovators and advance NASA’s mission.
In February, the administration launched the NASA Acquisition Innovation Launchpad, a website intended to break down barriers for organizations looking to work with the administration. Upon the announcement, Melroy described the program as a space for anyone looking to test ideas to help NASA “improve life for everyone on the planet.”
Executive Mosaic congratulates Pamela Melroy on her 2023 Wash100 win and looks forward to seeing where her leadership takes NASA in the future.
