Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a $313.4 million contract modification to perform additional support services for the U.S. Navy’s Super Hornet service life extension program.
The company will perform engineering work to extend the F/A-18 E/F’s active life by 4,000 flight hours to 10,000 and equip the aircraft with Block III avionics configuration, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
DOD noted the modification comprises non-recurring engineering, program management and aircraft induction efforts.
The Navy did not obligate funds on the award. Work has an expected completion date of February 2025 and will take place at company facilities in San Antonio and St. Louis.
Boeing shares opened lower on Wednesday at $207.20, compared to a previous close of $208.37.
