The MIL Corporation has appointed Leslie Taylor, former vice commander of the Naval Air Systems Command, as vice president and executive adviser of the company’s defense business unit
The 37-year naval aviation veteran will lead the implementation of the unit’s strategic growth plan and the direct provision of customer services, MIL said Monday.
Taylor previously supervised fleet force advisers in investment efforts to modernize operational systems at NAVAIR as vice commander and was the first-ever female executive director at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, where she oversaw technical and business processes.
She started her Navy career as a flight test engineer. The service branch is still using the test and evaluation methods she developed for U.S. naval aviation.
Her awards include the Department of Navy Superior Civilian Service Award, the Excellence in Federal Career Bronze Award for Supervisors and the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive.
