Robert Judd has been elevated to chief operating officer of Metron, a company focused on providing technology and science-based offerings to both public and private sector customers.
In his new role, Judd will collaborate with Metron’s executive leadership and board of directors to boost company growth and financial diversification with capability development as a central priority, the Reston, Virginia-based company said Thursday.
“Bob’s impressive reputation for executing on plan and achieving results makes him the perfect choice to lead operations as we continue to drive opportunities for growth,” said Metron CEO Van Gurley.
“The board appointment of Bob to chief operating officer is part of our larger strategy to capitalize on emerging opportunities that align with Metron’s core capabilities as a solutions provider,â he added.
Judd is experienced in developing a number of technologies, such as aerospace power converters, torpedo defense, sonar, imaging, communications, chemical/biological/explosive detection and through-the-wall radar systems.
In 2019, Judd joined Metron as its director of business development and corporate relationships. Since then, he has worked to support revenue growth, corporate relations and commercialization.
Prior to joining Metron, Judd served as general manager of Rantec Power Systems, where he worked with head contractors on Department of Defense platforms, and in multiple positions at Ultra Electronics 3 Phoenix, in which he fostered partnerships with the Navy, DOD and international organizations.
Also assuming a new role is Aaron Wagner, who will take on the vice president of corporate business development and growth position. His new responsibilities include supervising Metronâs U.S. and international business development efforts and assisting with customer acquisition methods in the defense, space and commercial areas.
Wagner joined Metron in 2014 and has since led technical development activities for contracts with a number of federal organizations. He has also played a role in expanding the companyâs portfolio of autonomous systems technology and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Coinciding with these appointments, Patrick Kennedy has been named vice president of Metron-XCD, a novel capability development sector geared toward customers within the defense, space and intelligence communities.
In this position, Kennedy, who joined Metron over a decade ago as a senior analyst, will head the business unit’s operations and growth strategy to bolster its portfolio and provide its offerings to federal customers.
“With these appointments, Metron is strengthening our leadership team to better meet the needs of our customers and deliver true speed to capability. Our goal is to be the obvious choice for technology innovations for defense, intelligence, and commercial applications,” Gurley stated.
