The U.S. Air Force has started seeking proposals as part of the second on-ramp process for a contract vehicle for weapon systems development, digital and model-based systems engineering, Agile processes, open systems architecture and enterprise analytics.
The armament directorate at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida intends to rapidly acquire platforms and services to meet the program executive office for weaponsâ requirements through the Eglin Wide Agile Acquisition Contract On-Ramp II with a focus on armaments and digital trinity of digital engineering and manufacturing, Agile software and OSA, according to a solicitation notice published Tuesday.
âThis contract vehicle does not have specific funding tied to it but rather will depend on inter-agency and outside agency funding executed through the PEO Weapons portfolio and other program funding as provided,â the notice reads.
The scope of the EWAAC indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract includes research and development; test and evaluation; prototyping; experimentation; hardware and software modifications; weapon design; system modeling; and data mining, collection and analysis, according to the statement of objectives.
In September 2021, the Air Force awarded 55 vendors spots on the potential $46 billion EWAAC multiple-award IDIQ contract. Two months following the award, the service sought proposals for the contract vehicleâs first on-ramp process.
The release of the solicitation came two weeks after the service issued a request for information for the contract vehicleâs second on-ramp. The service noted in the RFI that the estimated ceiling of the potential requirement is $46 billion over a period of 10 years.
Proposals are due Jan. 24.
