The U.S. Air Force is soliciting information from industry as it plans to compete Cloud One Next, a follow-on contract to the Cloud One program.
The service is seeking input on how companies would manage and update Cloud One while taking into consideration “recent government leadership direction,” according to a request for information published Friday.
According to the service branch, Cloud One offers a “secured cloud landing zone” for various mission system owners across the Department of Defense that are already in the cloud or are working to transition to cloud environments from on-premises data centers.
Cloud One provides MSOs with common services that offer a standardized set of tools throughout the Department of the Air Force’s cloud infrastructure and delivers marketing support for outreach and education related to Cloud One services.
Interested stakeholders should respond to a list of questions, including the metrics their organizations use to quantify user satisfaction while moving and operating applications in the cloud and approach to enforcing standardized security controls to enable authority to operate inheritance for MSOs.
Responses to the RFI are due Dec. 5.
