Michael Browne, a retired U.S. Navy rear admiral and former IBM (NYSE: IBM) executive, has joined software company Decision Lens to serve as senior vice president.
Decision Lens said Thursday Browne will bring his military background and private sector experience to the senior leadership team and contribute to a range of company efforts such as market strategy development, product, marketing and business buildup.
Ted Reynolds, chief revenue officer of Decision Lens, cited Browne’s national security strategy and resource planning knowledge and expressed belief that the new SVP will be able to help the company address market challenges.
Browne was a director of strategic and international government programs for IBM Research and, in addition, served in consulting, sales and technology roles during his stint with the company. He is also a former CEO of artificial intelligence company Lumina Analytics.
The retired Navy official’s military career includes time serving as deputy chief engineer at Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Network Warfare Command; director of personnel programs within the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations; and senior fellow at the CNO’s Strategic Studies Group.
