Lockheed Books $504M Order for Australian Seahawk Helicopters

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $503.7 million firm-fixed-price order from the U.S. Navy to produce and deliver naval helicopters to the Australian government.

The order involves the supply of a dozen Seahawk MH-60 “Romeo” aircraft units, manufactured by Lockheed’s Sikorsky business, to fulfill a foreign military sales requirement, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity and expects contractor services to finish in October 2026.

Fifty-two percent of the work will be conducted in New York, 40 percent in Connecticut and the remaining 8 percent in Troy, Alabama.

Australia requested to buy the helicopters for use in anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare missions as part of a $985 million FMS deal the State Department approved in October 2021.
