Estonia will receive up to six M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System launchers as well as related equipment and support from Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) under a potential $500 million Foreign Military Sales deal recently cleared by the State Department.
The proposed transaction also includes the sale of missile pods for the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System and its extended range variant and the Army Tactical Missile System, among other requested purchase items, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday.
Aside from M142 HIMARS launchers and missile system pods, prime contractor Lockheed will provide program and logistic support to help Estonia modernize its military capability and strengthen interoperability with NATO allies, including the U.S.
Lockheed is also one of the prime contractors for a potential $385 million FMS transaction with Australia for HIMARS launchers, a deal State Department approved in May.
