GDIT President Amy Gilliland Presented 5th Consecutive Wash100 Award By Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

Amy Gilliland, president of General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), was officially presented her 2022 Wash100 Award during a recent visit to the company’s office in Fairfax, Virginia, by Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that Amy Gilliland has received the highest honor in all of government contracting (GovCon), which demonstrates the highest level of success that she continues to achieve for the GovCon community and the growth of our industry.

Executive Mosaic recognized Amy Gilliland with her fifth Wash100 Award for her leadership in GDIT’s cloud modernization efforts as well as its cybersecurity services and offerings for their clients. Aside from the organization’s offerings to the intelligence and civilian agencies, GDIT also works to carry out significant IT modernization projects for the U.S. military.

GDIT announced a potential seven-year, $661.6 million from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) back in April to develop and operate the agency’s enterprise IT infrastructure and application platforms under the Managed Application, Infrastructure, Networking, Enterprise, and Security Services (MAINES) task order.

“Technology and ingenuity are critical to furthering the government’s environmental mission,” said Amy Gilliland. “GDIT will partner with the EPA to deliver a reliable, secure and technologically advanced IT infrastructure that will support agency initiatives fundamental to protecting human health and the environment.”

During a recent Executive Spotlight interview back in November, Amy Gilliland shared her insights into the importance of establishing a company culture and developing long-term growth of her employees as well as her approach to zero-trust architecture to meet the challenges of the cyber landscape, GDIT’s efforts to address its clients IT modernization initiatives.

Here’s an excerpt from Amy Gilliland’s Executive Spotlight interview with ExecutiveBiz:

ExecutiveBiz: How has GDIT established its company culture to drive success and customer satisfaction while also building your employees’ careers towards long-term growth and success in such a competitive industry as tech?

“When you can create a culture that your employees tell their friends and other professionals about as a place to progress and earn certifications, that’s the best recruiting tool in the market. In fact, about 20 percent of our new employee hires were from referrals. With the right culture, the right employees will come to work for your business.”

Executive Mosaic congratulates GDIT and Amy Gilliland for receiving her fifth consecutive Wash100 Award. Her longevity at the highest level of the GovCon sector has set the standard of company growth, success and contribution for the GovCon community.
