Jerry Wohletz, a senior executive at BAE Systems’ U.S. subsidiary, will assume the role of president and CEO of Draper on June 27.
He succeeds William LaPlante, a 2022 Wash100 awardee and who left Draper in April after the Senate confirmed him to serve as undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment at the Department of Defense, Draper said Monday.
David Shedd, chairman of the board at Draper, said Wohletz brings to the position his breadth and depth of experience and reputation as a leader with a commitment to pursuing excellence in the national security sector.
Wohletz comes to Draper as the nonprofit research company continues to carry out its strategic plan.
Wohletz most recently served as vice president and general manager of BAE’s electronic combat solutions. His 22-year career at the aerospace and defense contractor included time as VP and GM for FAST Labs.
