Rob Lalumondier, a more than 20-year industry veteran, has been named vice president of the federal business unit at cybersecurity company Sophos.
He will be responsible for leading the segment’s strategy to help public sector clients automated platforms designed to protect agency data, networks and users against ransomware and cyber threats, Sophos said Wednesday.
Lalumondier previously served as executive director of McAfee‘s federal civilian group and director of Intel‘s defense and intelligence business.
His appointment comes as Sophos works toward securing certification under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to offer cybersecurity software and services to the government.
“As Sophos progresses toward FedRAMP authorization, Rob’s expertise will be essential in refining our federal distribution strategy and expanding our federal sales organization to offer invincible support for our federal customers and the channel partners that serve them,” said Erin Malone, senior vice president of Americas sales at Sophos.
Lalumondier is a Roy H. Park Leadership Fellow at Cornell University and a former U.S. Army captain who supported Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
