Alan Chvotkin, a partner at Nichols Liu and a member of Executive Mosaic’s GovCon Expert program, co-authored a new report from the OCI Proposal Consultants called the “Government Contractor Confidence Index” study, the company announced on Tuesday.
The study, which was distributed to 5,600 directors and VP’s of business development, capture, and proposals, was written by GovCon Expert Alan Chvotkin and Russell Smith, president of OCI Proposal Consultants.
The two subject matter experts found that government contractors are confident about future business and growth opportunities for our sector, especially in cybersecurity and infrastructure.
“In the government-contracting arena, there has never been a study that quantifiably measures the overall confidence of the government contracting community,” said Russell Smith, President of OCI Proposal Consulting. “Our goal was to fill this gap. We also wanted to help contractors to understand how their peers feel about the future, and guide their successes in the year ahead.”
GovCon Expert Alan Chvotkin and Russell Smith discovered that 66 percent of those surveyed expressed solid confidence in the federal market for 2022, including a high confidence level of 95 percent. In addition to cybersecurity and infrastructure, big data and defense emerged as the top priority areas for contractors.
The study also provided a breakdown of how government contractors are impacted by the pandemic with a quarter of those surveyed said their businesses were still being impacted. A significant segment of respondents also stated that they are having a hard time finding the right talent.
