John Clark to Succeed Jeff Babione as Lockheed’s Skunk Works Division Head

John Clark, a 23-year Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) veteran, has been appointed vice president and general manager of the company’s advanced development programs division, also known as Skunk Works.

His appointment is effective April 4 and he will succeed Jeff Babione, who will retire at the end of March after a nearly three-decade career with the aerospace and defense contractor, Lockheed said Monday.

Clark most recently served as vice president for engineering and technology within the company’s aeronautics division where he supervised approximately 8,000 engineers and guided the development of a technical concept for products and processes.

He also worked as Skunk Works’ VP of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and unmanned aircraft systems. In this role, Clark focused on the modernization and sustainment of ISR and UAS platforms and the Battle Management and Command and Control Systems, according to his LinkedIn profile.
