DC Capital Partners has acquired aerospace component manufacturer uAvionix for an undisclosed sum.
Established in 2015, uAvionix provides small form factor communications, surveillance and navigation avionics for manned and unmanned aircraft systems and develops aviation safety systems to facilitate the integration of UAS into the National Airspace System, DC Capital said Wednesday.
The company’s product portfolio includes automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast transceivers, transponders and receivers, panel displays, command and control platforms and GPS systems. It also offers a Department of Defense AIMS-certified Mode 5 identification friend or foe transponder for unmanned aerial vehicles.
Paul Beard, CEO of uAvionix, said DC Capital’s experience in maturing startups will enable the company to improve its internal operations, scale globally and expand its platforms to defense markets.
Thomas Campbell, founder and President of DC Capital Partners, said the private equity firm will continue to grow uAvionix as the latter continues to build and deliver novel technologies and capabilities to meet the requirements of customers in the manned and unmanned sectors.
Alexandria, Virginia-based DC Capital is focused on making equity investments in middle-market companies that provides innovative platforms and services for the defense, government and engineering markets.
The transaction is DC Capital’s second acquisition under Fund III. The investment firm purchased image sensor and camera company Sionyx in August 2021.
