Shyu has been selected two times to Executive Mosaic’s annual list that recognizes the government contracting sector’s most significant contributors, with her first induction having taken place in 2015 when she was the assistant secretary of the U.S. Army for acquisition, logistics and technology. She was confirmed to the USD(R&E) position at DOD in July 2021 and acts as the department chief technology officer.
