The U.S. Army has released a request for proposals for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle follow-on contract worth potentially $7.3 billion over 10 years and set April 12 as the bid submission deadline for the recompete opportunity.
JLTV is a joint program of the Army and the U.S. Marine Corps that seeks to support multiple missions and provide networked, sustained and protected mobility for servicemembers and payloads in support of military operations, according to a solicitation notice posted Thursday.
The statement of work for the JLTV recompete consists of supplies and services needed for vehicle production, including test assets, kits, authorized stockage list, spares acquisition integrated with production, field service representative, maintenance and storage of procured hardware and program support services, including configuration and program management, test support and integrated product support.
The follow-on contract has a five-year base term and five option years and includes an option to buy a technical data package and computer software package specific to technology enhancements for the family of vehicles, according to the notice.
Interested stakeholders seeking to view the solicitation should send a request to the military branch. The contract data requirement list and attachments in the RFP contain files that are controlled unclassified information.
The Army has also asked vendors to follow instructions in the provided attachments and submit a request in order to gain access to the CSP and TDP hard drive for the program.
Breaking Defense reported the branch could name the recompete winner in September.
Oshkosh‘s (NYSE: OSK) defense subsidiary won the $6.75 billion initial JLTV production contract in August 2015 and secured a potential $592 million contract modification in November 2021 to produce additional military trucks and trailers.
