Ellen Lord, former undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment at the Department of Defense, has joined the board of directors of GEOST, a Tucson, Arizona-based provider of sensors for national security space missions.
She will advise GEOSTâs management team and provide insights to help the company expand its research and development initiatives and improve production capabilities, the company said Wednesday.
GEOST CEO Tony Gleckler said Lordâs leadership background, perspectives and experience as a senior defense official and CEO will be essential as the company further develops capabilities and broaden its presence in the space market.
Lord, a four-time Wash100 Award winner, serves on the boards of directors of AAR (NYSE: AIR) and Voyager Space and is a senior fellow at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Prior to joining DOD, she served as president and CEO of Textron Systems.
GovCon Wire will hold its Space Acquisition Forum on Jan. 19. Register for the virtual forum to hear from defense officials as they share their insights on military acquisition reform and modernization efforts.
