U.S. Special Operations Command is looking to award L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) a $297.2 million contract modification to fully execute a capital equipment replacement program for legacy manpack radio systems.
SOCOM awarded the original six-year, $255 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for AN/PRC 167 radios to Harris Corp. in June 2017. The all-stock merger between Harris and L3 Technologies was completed in July 2019.
The command said Friday in a SAM notice it identified a need to extend the ordering period by two years and increase the original IDIQ award’s ceiling value to address program requirements.
L3Harris’ contract is scheduled to expire June 12, 2023, and SOCOM identified a need for an extension to make up for radio production delays.
