BAE Systems has agreed to acquire Bohemia Interactive Simulations for an undisclosed amount in a move to expand training products and services for the defense sector.
Orlando, Florida-headquartered BISim has more than 325 employees worldwide and offers game-based software platforms built to support military readiness programs, BAE said Thursday.
DLA Piper and Jones Day respectively act as legal counsels to BAE and BISim on the transaction.
In early August, BISim secured a subcontract to provide a suite of simulation and training tools to Cole Engineering Service for integration into the U.S. Army’s Synthetic Training Environment.
A BAE-led team is developing a synthetic training platform for the U.K. air force’s Typhoon fighter jet pilots under a $294 million contract announced in September.
