Matt Cornwell, a 14-year defense industry veteran, has been named president of Warrenton, Virginia-based propulsion technology developer SPARC Research.
He succeeds Patrick Hewitt, who has transitioned to a new role as CEO of SPARC Holding Company, the research business said Monday.
Cornwell previously held finance, proposal development and advanced program management roles at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC).
“After working in the defense industry in numerous roles and positions, I am excited to join and lead the SPARC team to growth and expansion of our existing capabilities,” Cornwell said.
Founded in 2018, SPARC Research uses multiphysics modeling tools in efforts to advance the development, design and prototype demonstration of rocket and airbreathing systems.
