Positioning, navigation and timing technology provider Orolia has agreed to acquire Granada, Spain-based Seven Solutions in a move to expand the former’s product portfolio for defense, telecommunications, data center, smart grid and aerospace applications.
Orolio said Monday it expects to close the transaction before the end of 2021 and pursued the acquisition to complement its PNT offering, which includes atomic clocks, with Seven Solutions’ time transfer and synchronization platform that offers sub-nanosecond accuracy.
The acquisition will combine the product development, operations, global sales and marketing functions of the two companies.
âWe believe the union of our companies will produce the future of time transfer and frequency distribution solutions in terms of accuracy, reliability and interoperability,â said Rafael Rodriguez, chief technology officer at Seven Solutions.
Both companies are part of the Open PNT Industry Alliance, an international association that pursues market concepts to help government agencies implement resilient PNT technologies.
