Ben Palmer, who formerly led Northrop Grumman‘s (NYSE: NOC) mission systems business in Europe, will officially join Inmarsat on Nov. 8 to serve as president of the satellite communications provider’s maritime unit.
He will succeed three-decade Inmarsat veteran Ronald Spithout and will bring 25 years of industry experience to his new position, Inmarsat said Thursday.
Palmer previously worked for global consulting firm AlixPartners and BAE Systems, where his prior roles included director of business development within the British defense contractor’s maritime, surface ships and BVT Surface Fleet businesses.
The Inmarsat Maritime business offers satellite-based connectivity products and services to vessel operators.
